About Us

“Our Mission is to restore surgically effected or accidentally injured knees to normal range of motion, ensuring an improved quality of life.”

Linear Motion 120, LLC is a durable medical equipment company that has designed, engineered, fabricated and manufactured the LM 120 with HyperX to be used before and following total knee replacement surgery and to rehabilitate sprained or torn limb ligaments. Our device has been awarded utility and provisional patents and designated as a FDA Class I Medical Device. We have been recognized by the New Mexico Small Business Assistance Program and awarded funding for three consultation cycles valued at $60,000. Linear Motion 120 has collaborated with San Juan College Small Business Development Center, Sandia National Laboratories, NMSU School of Business, New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Full Spectrum Solutions, and Brusseau Technical Design.

The LM 120 with HyperX’s hardware is designed to restore normal range of motion (ROM) through three phases. HyperX Mode uses two thigh straps, two cams and two forward and reversing motors to depress the leg up to 0.75 inch/19.5 mm. Therapy Mode allows the client to reach flexion and extension goals programmed into the computer by the physical therapist, based on the client’s femur and tibia measurements. The client is free to stop, pause, reverse or resume therapy to control any pain experienced.

Exercise Mode is to sustain and maintain the ROM achieved in the Therapy Mode. This entails continuous linear movement from hip-to-knee-to-ankle for up to 10 minutes, repeated in four, 15-20 minute daily sessions until the ROM of the non-surgical leg is reached. The unit’s custom, state-of-the-art software system permits the client to e-mail the following information to the clinic, in accordance with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM): the highest degrees of flexion and extension achieved that day; the time spent in HyperX and Exercise Mode; the End Pain Level; and Medications Taken.

With our unique product and superior customer service, the Linear Motion 120, LLC and the LM 120 with HyperX will be acknowledged domestically and internationally by orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and athletic trainers as the only durable medical device to use for pre-and postoperative knee and hip rehabilitation and for limb injury mitigation. Patients/clients who have been treated using the device will report satisfactory outcomes and improved quality of life.
